Got something on your screen you want to share?
Any software that allows you to share a broadcast of your screen is defined as a screencast tool or video screen capture. Here are a few applications which you can use to communicate and share your screenshots all over the world. Choose an application (or add a new one) and discuss any or all of these questions:

  • What are some things I can do with this software?
  • Are there built-in templates? How are they?
  • What are some useful tools in this application?
  • Does the software do what it is intended to do?
  • What do you like about it?
  • What do you dislike about it?
  • How could this software be used in class?

Jing
Jing is a really cool program that basically allows you to record pictures or videos from your own screen and post them on YouTube or use them in forums or Facebook, chat or email. There are no built-in templates, but this program has three very useful tools: text, arrows, and highlighter. You could use these to pin point locations on a map, or digitally highlight important parts in papers to be passed on to classmates (group work). I think that this software does what it is meant to do, I really like it all, and only dislike that you need to download it, even if it is free. You could use this in class to demonstrate how to complete procedures on a computer, and also how to use Jing using Jing!
